I'm sorry you've been laid off and I really can't believe it. It seemed like you loved your position there and that you were a great Community Manager. I'm still a college student, so I can't offer much advice regarding layoffs, but I think you are highly skilled and you will find something even better to get your career on the right track again! Thank you all SO MUCH! I was questioning if I was under-reacting by not freaking out too much. I think starting off with a good perspective helped. I'd be lying if I told you I haven't had some mini-freakouts since last Monday, but I've been glad to have some great people around to lend an ear. It's strange how much better positioned I am to live the life I want now compared to before I moved out of Massachusetts. Even if I find myself back there, it's going to be an entirely different set of circumstances... probably more favorable too. Everyone, I'd love to hear about your stories. All of your stories. I was laid off at the beginning of this little adventure we're calling "the great recession" and while it is not fun attitude is everything. So, you're already way ahead of the game. They've always bounced back and I respect them for being able to pick themselves up & keep going. I have no doubt you'll do the same.
